Marafada is a grocery store and coffee place that brings the soul of the Algarve to Lisbon, its flavours, textures, and everyday rituals.
The identity is rooted in memory and place. The wordmark recalls the bold, utilitarian lettering of traditional Portuguese grocery stores, once painted on façades or printed on packaging, reimagined here with a contemporary voice. It speaks of familiarity and trust, while opening the door to something fresh and modern.

Handmade patterns, created with linoleum stamps, extend this language into a tactile system. The sun, the sea, the chimneys, the almond blossoms,
the oranges, each symbol captures an imprint of the Algarve, transforming heritage into a living visual vocabulary.

Marafada became more than a brand. In Junqueira Street, the grocery and café grew into a gathering place: for neighbours, for friends, and for Algarvians like myself who longed for the taste of home, whether in a folar or a Dom Rodrigo.
