Enxovalhada is the name of a traditional homemade cake from Montemor-o-Novo, a town in the heart of the Alentejo countryside in southern Portugal. Known for its distinctive texture and rich walnut flavour, it has long been part of the region’s culinary heritage.
Developed during a design school project for a real client and awarded 1st place, the new brand identity preserves this sense of tradition while adding an artisanal and contemporary touch. Handcrafted stamps were created to design patterns that carry the brand across different applications.
The walnut symbol connects directly to the cake’s flavour, while the poppy references its local origin, weaving together taste and territory in a simple yet evocative visual system.
Design, art direction and copywriting by Sara Antão and Ana Castanho.
